A simple way to reduce stress in seconds
If you want to find a quick, safe and easy way to relieve stress - you’re in the right place.
Physiological Sigh
It relaxes us as it off loads a lot of carbon dioxide all at once.
It’s natural. You might see your dog do it to relax or maybe children do it when they are sobbing.
It’s one of the quickest ways to calm your nervous system.
Double inhale, long exhale.
Inhale through your nose as much as you can, hold and then inhale a little bit again.
Release a long exhale through your mouth - as long as you can.
Just 1, 2 or 3 of these breaths in this way reduces our stress levels almost immediately. How amazing is that?
This is a great way to reset. Often we carry stress on our bodies throughout the day, letting it build up without us realising it. Not releasing it can impact our relationships, our focus and our health. Doing this technique often can feel empowering and that you’re taking control of your response to stress.
If you’re finding yourself going into the stress response most days then it’s a good idea to talk through other ways to manage the triggers and your stress levels long term. You can book in a call with Coaches Victoria or Sian anytime for some practical ways to help yourself.
