The best question to ask yourself during anxious moments

When we’re feeling anxious or stressed we can catastrophise and think of the worst case scenario. Our brain has evolved to have safety as its top priority. But ask yourself -is what I’m worrying about a possibility or a probability?

The worst case scenario is possible but is it likely? Our brain can confuse the two. In addition, our physiology responds the same whether it is an imagined outcome or whether it’s really happening which can add to our stress. Remembering this question can help us realise where we are stressing and draining our energy over something that might not happen.

I hope that is useful. If you’re finding it hard to quieten anxious thoughts and feel calm then please book in a reassuring and positive call with Victoria and Sian. We’re here to help. We can chat over Zoom or phone.
